Free, actually free

A free Minecraft server. Not a trial.

No card, no countdown, no "free for 14 days". Here is exactly what you get, exactly where the limits are, and how we can afford to give it away.

  • Rp 0 forever
  • No credit card
  • Online in ~30s
What you get

The free plan, in full.

Every one of these is on the free tier. None of it is a trial.

  • A real Minecraft server, yours, with its own world
  • An address like yourname.kubik.gg — no IP, no port forwarding
  • Every Minecraft version from 1.16 up to the newest release
  • Live console in the browser, no SSH
  • File manager in the browser, no FTP client
  • Settings as a form — difficulty, game mode, PvP, whitelist, MOTD
  • On-demand backups, stored off the server
  • Performance mods installed for you, before the first boot
The one rule

It sleeps when nobody is playing.

That is the whole deal, and it is the reason the free plan can exist at all. An empty server is giving up capacity somebody else could be playing on, so we hand it back — and give it straight back to you when you return.

  1. 01

    Everyone leaves

Your server keeps running normally for about five more minutes.

  2. 02

    It naps

The world is saved and closed, and the slot goes back to the pool. Nothing is deleted.

  3. 03

    You click wake

It boots and is back online in roughly 30 seconds — same world, same address, same backups.

Paid plans never do this. Always-on is the thing you are actually buying when you upgrade.

The honest part

And here is what free does not get you.

Better you read this now than find out on a Friday night. Every one of these disappears on a paid plan.

  • It sleeps, so someone has to wake it

Anyone can wake it from the dashboard, but somebody has to — a friend who joins at 2am while you are asleep will find it offline.

  • Four players

The cap is four on the free plan. The fifth person sees "server full" and gets in when someone leaves.

  • No add-ons of your own

The memory at this size is already spent on the game and the performance mods that make it smooth. Your own plugins and mods start at 2 GB.

  • Ads while you create and wake

A short break in front of the two moments you are already waiting through. Never while your server is running, and never on a paid plan.

  • Shared capacity at peak times

Free servers share a pool, so a wake can occasionally queue when everyone is online at once. Paid capacity is reserved, so it never queues.

The business model

So how is this free?

Fair question, and the answer is not "we will start charging you later". Three things pay for it.

  1. 01

    Sleeping servers cost nothing

A sleeping server holds no memory. One machine can therefore host far more free worlds than it has RAM for, because most of them are asleep most of the time. That single design decision is what makes the free plan possible.

  2. 02

Ads in the waits you already have

Creating a server takes a minute; waking one takes thirty seconds. Those two waits carry an ad. We do not put one anywhere else, and there is none at all on a paid plan.

  3. 03

    The people who outgrow it

Some free servers turn into communities that need to be awake at 3am, or a modpack that needs 4 GB. Those become paid plans, and paid plans pay for the free ones. That is the whole loop.

Free plan questions

The things people check first.

Will you ask for a card later?

No. The free plan never asks for a card, at signup or afterwards. You only enter payment details if you choose a paid plan yourself.

Does my world get deleted if I stop playing?

Sleeping is not deleting. Your world, settings and backups stay where they are, and one click brings the server back exactly as you left it.

How many free servers can I have?

One per account. Paid servers are unlimited, and each one is billed on its own plan.

Can my friends wake the server, or only me?

Anyone with access to the dashboard for that server can wake it. It takes about 30 seconds from the click.

What if I want plugins?

Your own plugins and mods start at 2 GB, which is the Wolf plan. On free we install performance mods for you, but the remaining memory is spoken for — offering an add-on browser at 1 GB would be selling something that would not run.

Is it really free forever, or free for now?

Forever. The free tier is not a promotion — it is how the product is designed, and the sleeping model is what makes it affordable to keep running.

Make your server now — one click and you are playing.

Free forever. No credit card, nothing else either. Online in minutes.
